Fit of Laughter 3 New Puppy



With the stay at home quarantine in full effect, what better time to get a puppy than right now? Nothing to do but give attention and train them is a recipe for success. My roommate Rob had been on the fence about one for a while but seized the opportunity. He drove out to Kansas to pick up the breed he really wanted. A half husky, half Pomeranian mix. It is a very cute dog and his name is "Tiger" after Tiger Woods. But when he misbehaves we use the real name of Tiger Woods and call him "Eldrick". As a 10 week puppy, there is a good mix of Eldrick and Tiger. However, I think he should be named after former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski because that is his exact personality. A recent fit of laughter came from watching Tiger try to escape from the playpen we created in our living room. He tried to make the jump up onto the couch and failed, tumbling back to the floor and sprawling in a wipeout. This by itself was funny enough to laugh at. But he then proceeded to get right back up and try the same tactic with the same conclusion 3 more times in a row. By the end, we were all in tears. Right now he has the same mindset as Gronk, just repeatedly crash into things until somebody tells him to stop.

    I'm a sucker for dog stories, so naturally this had me laughing. Just yesterday, my adult dog made a similarly failed attempt at jumping. He stopped after the first failure, and that was funny enough! I'd never heard of a husky-Pomeranian mix, so naturally I had to look it up. If the puppy is half as fluffy and adorable as the pictures I found, this story is automatically even funnier just by picturing the little fuzzball!

A recent fit of laughter came from a frisbee game I was playing with a few other friends. There are two people on a team, and they stand by a pole in the ground with a beer bottle on top. The object of the game is to knock the other team's bottle off of the pole. The defending team must catch the Frisbee and if the bottle falls off, can catch the bottle as well to save points. This is more difficult than it seems. One, I am a poor frisbee player and controlling where it goes can be a challenge. Learning Experience 1 The Flop Shot

One learning experience I have been working on for a while is improving my golf game. Golf is one of those sports that looks so easy when watching it, but to truly appreciate the degree of difficulty you have to head to the range and hit a few shots yourself. A degree change in the angle of clubface and swing path is the difference between your ball ending up in the lake or the middle of the fairway. Achieving consistency is the most difficult part of golf, and I'm far from that… but working towards it. Specifically, after watching YouTube videos of the flop shot legend Phil Mickelson, I was determined to at least hit a flop shot consistently. A flop shot is when you open the clubface all the way and make nearly a full swing to get the ball to pop directly up in the air.
